Leave a Bequest

When you make a bequest in your Will, you’re making a lasting gift to your community.

By leaving a charitable gift to the Fremantle Foundation through your Will – your gift will be managed in perpetuity so that it continues to support the organisations or causes you care about and leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.

The Fremantle Foundation can work with you and your lawyers to put your charitable bequest in place.

We can provide examples of how a bequest that meets your wishes could work. This can be used for discussions with your legal representative. It is important to get independent advice to ensure your wishes are clearly expressed and meet legal requirements.

Here’s the story of Hazel Ruby’s bequest

Through bequests you can:

1. Establish a named fund, with a bequest of $10,000 or more. This amount is the minimum required for a fund to make a significant difference.

2. Give to an established named fund, with a bequest of any amount

3. Give to the Fremantle Foundation, with a bequest of any amount

There are three types of bequests you can leave in your Will:

1. Pecuniary bequest.

A fixed amount specified in your Will.

2. Residuary bequest.

The remaining value of an estate when all other bequests to family and friends have been made and liabilities have been paid out

3. Reversionary bequest.

Allows a surviving partner to benefit from your estate during his or her lifetime and then for the balance of the estate to be paid to the Fremantle Foundation on their death.

The below table contains the specific wording recommended for including a bequest to the Fremantle Foundation in your Will.
