Stu MacLeod
Executive Officer 

Stu brings with him a wealth of experience in the not-for-profit sector. He joins the Fremantle Foundation as former Chief Operating Officer at The Westerman Jilya Institute for Indigenous Mental Health, General Manager of community radio station RTRFM and General Manager of FolkWorld.

Stu is an experienced leader with a varied and diverse skillset within the not-for-profit, business and creative realm. Stu has a strong, proven track record of exemplary strategic planning, governance, financial management and leadership. He places particular emphasis on the values of integrity, authenticity, transparency, resilience, equality, accountability, optimism and collaboration. Fremantle has always been Stu’s home and he is incredibly excited to have the opportunity to contribute to its community, history and story.

Pauline Eves
Grants Manager 

Pauline joined Fremantle Foundation in October 2021 and brings experience in both the For Profit and Not For Profit sectors.  Pauline holds a Bachelor of Business Degree and has worked in marketing for major multinational companies.

Pauline has been actively involved with Community Foundations for over 10 years with her voluntary board role on local charitable group WA Charity Direct. Pauline believes in the power of community and the positive impact of connection.

Pauline has lived in the Fremantle area all of her life and loves the vibrancy and diversity of Freo. 

Liana Kelly
Marketing Coordinator 

With a background in marketing for predominantly Not For Profit organisations, a diploma in mass communications, and a commitment to community service, Liana brings a unique viewpoint to community engagement.

Liana joined Fremantle Foundation in 2023 with a focus on sharing our stories and connecting with our community through innovative marketing strategies.

Beyond the professional realm, Liana is a dedicated community advocate. With a passion for LGBTQIA+ rights and animal welfare, she extends her impact through volunteer work with organisations such as Kanyana Wildlife, Free The Bears, Shenton Park Dogs Refuge, and is the Director of Stakeholder Engagement for Emerald City Kickball Perth.

Dylan Smith
Founder

The Fremantle Foundation was established in 2010,  by Dylan Smith with the help of a high profile steering committee and a founding donation from former Fremantle Dockers Captain Peter Bell,  to meet a wide variety of social, cultural, educational, health, environmental, and community needs in Fremantle and across Australia. 

Since then, the Fremantle Foundation has nurtured a healthy, vibrant and caring community.  We've been able to do this thanks to the hundreds of people over the years who have given back to the Western Australian community and stepped up to join us on the journey.

Peter Bell
Patron

Peter is a former Fremantle captain and dual premiership player with North Melbourne, past president of AFL Players’ Association, inaugural chairman of the AFL Players’ Trust and Australian Football Hall of Fame inductee. 

Peter started his 286-game AFL career for Fremantle in 1995 and completed his secondary education at Aquinas College and has a Bachelor of Laws from Melbourne University. He has carved out a highly successful career as a businessman, radio broadcaster and sports commentator in the decade since he played his last game for Fremantle in 2008.  Peter is currently General Manager Football Operations for Fremantle Dockers.

Kim Stewart
Director

Kim has worked in the financial services sector for over 30 years as a trusted Financial Adviser to business owners, family groups & senior executives.

Kim brings a range of skills to the Fremantle Foundation including business building & management, marketing, developing strong & enduring relationships along with extensive investment & portfolio management experience.

He has Agribusiness and Post Grad qualifications from Curtin University, a Grad Diploma in Financial Planning & retains the Certified Financial Planner (Retired) designation. Kim is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Management (GAICD).

Kim is also an avid cyclist & participant in the Ride for Youth since 2018 raising funds to improve the mental health & wellbeing of our young people.

Tanya Hundloe
Chair

Tanya is Managing Director/Founder of consultancy Social Money Solutions with over 25 years of experience in funding development for not for profit organisations.

In her professional and governance career, Tanya has led and facilitated strategic plans and projects for charities undertaking marketing, fundraising, communication, lobbying, governance and social impact work to support positive change.
Tanya has also led corporate social responsibility strategy and community partnership projects for national companies.

She is passionate about supporting transformational and sustainable impact to address community challenges.

She is a Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE), Fellow of Fundraising Institute Australia (FFIA) and Australian Institute of Company Directors graduate (GAICD).

Morgan Barron
Director

Mr Barron has over 25+ years of experience performing corporate finance, director and corporate advisor roles for ASX listed companies across a broad range of sectors. He has been involved in numerous capital raisings, corporate restructures, mergers, acquisitions, divestments and recapitalisations. Corporate skills include broker and stakeholder engagement, commercial negotiations, acquisitions, and divestitures. 

Mr Barron has a Commerce degree and is a Chartered Accountant. He is a partner of Ventnor Equities & Advisory and Ventnor Securities

Michael Chester
Director

Michael is the Head of Service Operations at UnitingCare West. Michael has thirty years of general and executive management experience and is highly experienced in the start-up and development of business entities and divisions.

Michael has a relationship-focussed approach to business development, stakeholder management and client retention and an excellent understanding of governance gained through Board and Executive experience in the not-for-profit sector. Michael has a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry/Biotechnology (hons) and a MBA, General Management.

Richard Usher
Director

Richard is a Manager for Communicare, a not-for-profit community services organisation which aims to create community inclusion and community safety by working collaboratively with individuals, families to facilitate social and economic inclusion and sustain safe and healthy communities. 

Richard’s professional experience of over 20 years includes roles as a Wealth Executive leading people, teams, and business units in commercial, not-for-profit, and public service.

Richard brings to the board a diverse mix of knowledge and skills in Financial Risk, Investment Management, Business Management, Regulatory Compliance, and Corporate Governance. Richard is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Joanne McDonald
Director

Joanne is an experienced executive with over 20 years’ professional experience covering the areas of corporate governance, stakeholder engagement, community investment and ESG reporting. Joanne is currently Company Secretary and Head of Corporate Affairs with IGO Limited.

She has a Masters in Corporate Governance, has completed post graduate studies in Social Impact at the University of Western Australia, is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Andrea McCallum
Director

Andrea is a lawyer with a strong commitment to social justice and human rights.

She is currently a sessional member of the Mental Health Tribunal. She has previously been a sessional member of the State Administrative Tribunal, and worked with Indigenous people in Australia and Canada for many years. 

Andrea has lived in Fremantle since childhood and is passionate about contributing to her local community. She is very excited to join the Fremantle Foundation board with its focus on philanthropy as an agent for positive social change.

Carina Becker
Director

Carina has over ten years professional experience, the majority of which has been spent in the delivery of external audit services to a wide variety of clients in Australia and South Africa.

She has gained experience on a variety of audit assignments including external audits of public listed and unlisted companies and has also undertaken a wide range of external audits of not-for-profit organisations, private businesses and government agencies. 

Carina is Grant Thornton’s not-for-profit industry leader in Western Australia. She is passionate about the sector and is currently collaborating with Curtin University’s not-for-profit Initiative to research outcomes measurement and reporting by industry participants. She also provides services to clients in other industries including energy and resources, construction and development, manufacturing, retail, aged care and financial services.
